5 Self-Care Tips

It’s the month of love. Social media and just about every shop is awash with hearts, flowers, and chocolates. But it’s not all about romantic love, despite what the Valentine’s Day marketing messages tell us. It can be about self-love too. Here are 5 Self-Care Tips. 

Eat some food that you love

Whether it’s a delicious dessert or you want to nourish your body with a superfood salad, eat something you love. Don’t rush, take your time, and really savour every mouthful. You deserve it. 

Relax your mind 

Are you bombarded with thoughts and reminders as soon as you open your eyes? Take time out to relax your mind this month. 

This can look like reading a good book, meditating, or spending time in nature, being sure to appreciate everything that’s around you. 

Give your body a break 

One of my favourite self-care tips is giving my body a break. Rushing around and being stressed can make you so tense. Why not book a Reiki treatment which is super relaxing for the body and mind? 

You can also have a massage, do some yoga, or have a restorative nap. Your body intuitively knows what it needs. 

Bring a little bit of sweetness into your life

Chocolates aren’t the only way you can add a little sweetness to your life. From enjoying a sweet treat or cuddling up with a pet, there are plenty of ways to make your life a little sweeter this February. 

Remember to smile 

However you feel this month, you always have something to smile about. Make a list of things you’re grateful for. Watch a funny movie or TV show that makes you laugh. Take yourself on a date to watch some stand up comedy. Whatever it takes to make you smile and remember that you deserve to be happy. 

Romantic love may always be the focus of this time of the year, but it’s important that you don’t forget self-love matters too. 

Take some time out and remember that you deserve the love you so freely give to everyone else.
